"We need to teach our Little Learners today because they are our tomorrow, they are our future."
Little Learners Preschool has provided a positive learning experience for children since 2003. We have a caring and nurturing staff that are all certified through the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care and are also CPR and First Aid certified.
Children learn at their own pace and should be treated as individuals. We believe a safe and nurturing environment will provide endless opportunities for children to learn and grow. They should be encouraged to explore, make choices, learn and apply new skills and make new friends. Children are eager to learn and teachers will guide them in any way they can.
The goal at Little Learners is to provide a positive learning experience for every child, which will help them to develop a positive self-concept and self esteem. We want to teach the children to respect diversity and individual differences while they learn about the world they live in. We want to support the child's family, in hopes that together we will contribute to the child's health, growth and development in a way that is positive and most beneficial.
All programs are aligned with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and include learning activities in the areas of:
English Language Arts
Mathematics
Science and Technology/Engineering
History and Social Science
Comprehensive Health
The Arts
Younger Preschoolers - 2.9 years old and up
This program focuses on all areas of development. Social development and school adjustments are very important at this age. Learning to make new friends, learning how to express feelings in an appropriate manner and having lots of fun while learning is the agenda for this program. Introduction to colors, numbers, letters, shapes, nursery rhymes, math, science, etc. will be a part of the curriculum during the school year. Multicultural education is also an important part of the curriculum. It teaches children that we are all different and it is OK to be different. Children need to understand that we can live in different homes, speak different languages, eat different foods, wear different clothes, but in the end we are all people. Diversity is a wonderful thing. We are shaping their attitudes for the future and multicultural education would include teaching all this.
Pre- Kindergarten- 4 years old and up
This program focuses on getting ready for kindergarten. We will work with the children using a creative curriculum. They will participate in age appropriate activities that will help them grow in all areas of development. Social development is important and we will also focus on that to prepare the children for their new adventures in kindergarten. Learning colors, numbers, letters, shapes, math, science, nursery rhymes, etc. will be part of the curriculum during the school year. Multicultural education is also an important part of the curriculum. It teaches children that we are all different and it is OK to be different. Children need to understand that we can live in different homes, speak different languages, eat different foods, wear different clothes, but in the end we are all people. Diversity is a wonderful thing. We are shaping their attitudes for the future and multicultural education would include teaching all of this.
